News: Christine selected as Open Directory Project editor
Improving your web search...one listing at a time
Fort Lauderdale builders can now get a jump on promoting their web sites around the USA and the world thanks to local representation on a major search engine project. Christine Speedy, President of Schantz Inc., a marketing agency specializing in real estate, was appointed editor of the Fort Lauderdale real estate section for the the Open Directory Project (ODP) (dmoz.org) . The Open Directory Project (ODP) is the most comprehensive human edited directory of the Web, compiled by a vast global community of volunteer editors. The ODP powers core directory services for some the most popular portals and search engines on the Web, including AOL Search, Netscape Search, Google, Lycos, Direct Hit, and HotBot, among hundreds of others.
"It has been taking weeks and months for companies to get listed on some major search engines, particularly ones that don't charge fees. We need search engines to be current to be effective and I'll be able to list web sites within a matter of days now, provided they meet the ODP criteria, " said Christine.
